The Fiber Laser Pulse Sources (FILPS) program will develop a compact fiber laser system that generates short high-energy pulses at a high average-power level. The system will enable applications such as remote detection of biological and chemical agents, free space communications, advanced photolithography, and long-range laser radar systems.
